STARKVILLE - Last spring Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen made stops at more than 20 student organizations; it appears his grassroots efforts have paid off in a big way. On Monday, the MSU athletic department announced it had sold a single-day record of more than 7,000 student season tickets.
"This is great," Mullen said. "The enthusiasm is high all around campus and we're glad the students are as excited about the start of the season as the team is."
Athletic department officials confirmed the limit of 11,000 student tickets this season, a number that may be reached Tuesday morning. To accommodate the demand, the MSU ticket office at the Bryan Athletic Administration Building and the temporary ticket office set up at the Colvard Student Union will both open at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
