MSU Women's Tennis Concludes Play At ITA Southern Regional

AUBURN, Ala. - Playing in their third tournament of the fall season, Mississippi State's women's tennis team wrapped up play Saturday at the ITA Southern Regional.

Lady Bulldogs Valeriya Makarycheva and Natalia Mayuk each lost out on their bid for the third round. Makarycheva lost 6-1, 6-0 to Abigail Guthrie from Ole Miss, while Tsigvintseva went down to Kaitlyn Burns of LSU in a tight 7-6(10), 6-2 match.   

Meanwhile, MSU's Elizabeth Hall, Natalia Mayuk and Danielle Terpko each went 1-1 in consolation matches.

"Overall, it is great that we could win today," said head coach Daryl Greenan. "There is some tough competition in this tournament, and I am proud of the way our players fought and never gave up. I learned a lot about this team today."

Mississippi State will conclude the fall season Nov. 6-8 at the Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
