Bulldogs Conclude Exhibition Play Against Georgetown College

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State returns to the hardcourt at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum when it hosts Georgetown College in the final exhibition game of the year, admission is free.

Last week behind Ravern Johnson's 23 points, the Bulldogs upended Oklahoma City 82-54 in the opener.

Under the direction of 12th-year coach Rick Stansbury, the No. 18-ranked Bulldogs are 20-2 in exhibition play, including last year's mark of 2-0.

Mississippi State, which returns all five starters from last year's 23-13 campaign that was highlighted by the 2009 SEC Tournament crown and a second-straight berth to the NCAA Tournament, opens regular-season play on Friday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. against Rider.

Georgetown College, ranked No. 7 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, posted a 27-5 ledger last year and finished the season ranked No. 5 after losing to Central Methodist in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament.

This year, the Tigers got off to a good start when they defeated Temple Baptist in its season opener, 115-47. The Tigers also turned heads when they dropped a hard-fought 80-68 decision to No. 19 Louisville after leading 35-31 at the break.
