STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State Women's Basketball team will play its only exhibition game of the season Sunday, as they face Arkansas-Monticello at 2 p.m. at the Humphrey Coliseum. Admission to the game is free.

Coming off a 23-10 record and an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the Lady Bulldogs return four starters and 11 total letterwinners from last season. Among that group is All-Southeastern Conference first team selection Alexis Rack who currently ranks 10th at MSU in scoring with 1179 career points. Also returning this season are seniors Chanel Mokango and Armelie Lumanu who were two of five members selected to the All-SEC Defensive Team last season. Mokango set a school single season record in blocks with 97 while Lumanu led the team in steals and was second in assists on last year's squad.

Head Coach Sharon Fanning-Otis returns for her 15th season in Starkville and her 34th overall as a head coach. At Mississippi State, she has compiled a 233-186 record and has 556 victories overall as a head coach.

Arkansas-Monticello is coming off a 21-9 campaign last season where they finished second overall in the Gulf South Conference. Head Coach Chris Ratcliff has a 44-33 record and is in his fourth season with the Cotton Blossoms. UAM returns three starters this season including forward Monica Perkins-Miller who averaged 12.9 points a year ago.

Following Sunday's exhibition contest, Mississippi State will open its regular season on Friday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
