STARKVILLE, Miss. - A season sweep of rival Ole Miss and the program's first back-to-back SEC wins since 2007 are on the line Sunday afternoon at the Newell-Grissom Building when the Bulldogs (7-21, 3-14 SEC) take on Ole Miss (8-18, 2-14 SEC) in a 1:30 p.m. Southeastern Conference volleyball match. It's the final Sunday competition of the season for MSU.

There is no charge for admission to Sunday's SEC volleyball competition.

The Bulldogs piled up a season-high 17 total team blocks Friday night in knocking off Arkansas 3-1 (25-15, 25-14, 21-25, 25-13) for their third league win of the year. Ashley Newsome and Ioana Demian matched season-best performances at the net with nine blocks and seven blocks respectively.

MSU rallied past Ole Miss in a five-set thriller Oct. 9 in Oxford and Sunday will be playing for a sweep of the 2009 season series with the Rebels. MSU last won consecutive matches in league play in 2007, topping Arkansas and Auburn in road matches. State also registered its last SEC weekend sweep that season with victories over Georgia and Auburn.

The Bulldogs travel to No. 19 LSU Nov. 20 and then close out their 2009 schedule hosting Alabama at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 on Senior Night at the Newell Grissom Building.
