Football To Begin 2010 Work On Aug. 3; First Practices Open To Fans

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State football team will officially begin preparations for the 2010 season when players report to campus on the evening of August 2. The Bulldogs will begin preseason work with helmets only practices on Tuesday and Thursday. Shoulder pads will be added on Friday and the team's first full-contact work will begin on Sunday, August 8.
 
Second summer session exams conclude on Wednesday, resulting in a staggered start to the first practice week. The team will work in separate groups on Tuesday and Friday, and as a whole on Thursday. Each of the first three days of practice will be held at the Shira Complex Practice Fields and are open to Mississippi State fans and students.
