STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's series finale with Nicholls University, scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Dudy Noble Field/Polk-DeMent Stadium, has been forfeited by the Colonels. In place of the game, Mississippi State will hold an intrasquad scrimmage beginning at 2 p.m. CT at Dudy Noble Field.
"Our team was ready to play and our players and coaches were dying to play," MSU head coach John Cohen said. "I feel like we missed out on a perfect opportunity to play."
The Diamond Dogs will depart Tuesday for their trip to Hawai'i where they will meet the Rainbows for four games in four days beginning this Thursday, March 5.
